Diary of a Resurrectionist, Saturday 4th January 1812

Saturday 4th.
Met at Bartholo’w. They took 4 of the above, 1 sent to Edinburgh, I went to Brookes, Carpue and Wilson for orders. Came back, at home all night.

St Bartholomew’s took 4 of the 5 bodies from the previous night’s haul and one was sent to Edinburgh by coach, as was the custom on a Saturday.

Brookes’ school was at Blenheims Steps, Great Marlborough Street, near Oxford Street, Carpue’s school was in Soho and Wilson was at the Great Windmill Street School, also in Soho.

About theresurrectionists

My name is Kirsty Chilton. I am a Medical Historian working in London and relentlessly searching for the body snatchers of 18th and 19th century London. Currently, the content of this blog is a personal project to repost and comment on the diary of 19th century Resurrectionist Joseph Naples 200 years from the time it was written.
