Diary of a Resurrectionist Friday 31st January 1812

Friday 31st.
Went to look out, at night went out, got 2 Guys & Thomas’s, same night 3 Harps 2 small : same night the Cart broke down, took 2 to Guys.

There seem to be a total of 7 bodies raisd on this night; 2 at Guy’s and St Thomas’s, and 5 at Harps, possibly 3 adults and 2 children. Unusually, Naples refers specifically to Guy’s and St Thomas’s in this entry (usually he says the Hospital Crib).

Naples notes another disruption to the business of distribution; this time, their cart breaks down.

About theresurrectionists

My name is Kirsty Chilton. I am a Medical Historian working in London and relentlessly searching for the body snatchers of 18th and 19th century London. Currently, the content of this blog is a personal project to repost and comment on the diary of 19th century Resurrectionist Joseph Naples 200 years from the time it was written.
