Diary of a Resurrectionist Friday 14th February 1812

Friday 14th
Met by appointment, me & Jack went to Big Gate got 4, the rest went to St. Luke’s got 2, took them to Barthol’w

Six bodies raised, 4 at Big gates and 2 at St Lukes. They were taken to the usual store at St Bartholomew’s.

Valentine’s Day had existed as a day of romance from the middle ages, and at the start of the 1700s, it became fashionable to write love notes on Valentine’s day – one wonders whether or not Mrs Naples received anything today, written in the midst of the resurrecting…

About theresurrectionists

My name is Kirsty Chilton. I am a Medical Historian working in London and relentlessly searching for the body snatchers of 18th and 19th century London. Currently, the content of this blog is a personal project to repost and comment on the diary of 19th century Resurrectionist Joseph Naples 200 years from the time it was written.
