Diary of a Resurrectionist, Wednesday 26th February 1812

Wednesday 26th.
Went to look out. Could not go out Jack and Tom got drunk. Ben’n  taken very ill.

A second night of drinking that week; perhaps Ben Crouch had become ill as a result of over indulgence. Naples doesn’t give any clues about the nature of Crouch’s sickness. He isn’t mentioned again for the rest of the month, though that does not necessarily mean he was sick all that time.

About theresurrectionists

My name is Kirsty Chilton. I am a Medical Historian working in London and relentlessly searching for the body snatchers of 18th and 19th century London. Currently, the content of this blog is a personal project to repost and comment on the diary of 19th century Resurrectionist Joseph Naples 200 years from the time it was written.
